Johnson's Come to Town!

It's general conference weekend! One of my very favorite weekends. AND to make it even better my family is in town from Michigan! I'm so lucky to have such awesome brothers and parents who make an effort to come out and visit us all the time. They came out Friday night and we spent the entire weekend snacking on way too much junk food, and listing to the words of the prophet. My spirit (and my stomach) were fed! The twins have changed so much since last time my family saw them so it was really fun to watch everyone play with them. Porter and Ollie are lucky to have such awesome Uncles! I don't think there was one second the entire weekend that they didn't have someone giving them attention!

I absolutely love hosting things, and go a little overboard with parties when I have an excuse to throw one. I decided to make general conference a little more fun by making tons and tons of yummy food and having some games planned for us to play! I put general conference quotes on sticks to put in the food, and had a bucket full of prizes for whoever won the games.

One of the games we played was kind of like "The Game of Things" but General Conference style. I passed out blank pieces of paper and had everybody write down quotes throughout the session that they liked. They wrote who said it on the back of the card. After the session was over I had everyone lay their cards out and we all had to guess which speaker said which quote. When you got one right you got a point, and the person with the most points got a prize. It was actually a lot harder than we all thought, and it made me realize I might need to work on my memory a little! haha!

Another game we did after all the sessions were over was a "guess the baby food" game. I had all my brothers and my dad sit in a line of chairs blind folded and I grabbed a bunch of cans of baby food from the nursery and they had to guess what the flavor was! It was super funny and I had Braxton video tape the entire thing. We started with banana flavor and then moved to a couple weirder combinations. I threw one super gross one in there (ham baby food) and it was priceless to watch their reactions!

I'm sad to see them go, but it's been a wonderful week!

Feeling Blessed

My life has changed dramatically this past year because of these little humans. From going through a traumatic preterm birth via emergency c-section, to months fighting in the NICU, to the hectic life of chasing twins around. I've learned so much about being a mother, and a better person. I have learned to have faith, especially in those first few weeks when they were so small. I have learned patience, in the moments when I have one baby playing in his own spit up while the other one is screaming his head off. But most of all I have learned to have love. A love unlike any I have ever known. A love so unconditional that after a day full of melt downs, poopy diapers, and messes, I hold them in my arms and all I can think is how blessed I am. I'm supposed to be the one teaching them, but already they have taught me so much.

Easter Weekend

Happy Easter! We've enjoyed a wonderful weekend full of food and family. We headed down to Braxton's parents house Thursday when Braxton got off work and spent the last few days with his family. Tyler came up Friday night to watch the new movie Batman v. Superman in theaters with Braxton and some friends so he spent the night and we got to hangout with him Saturday morning. We went out to eat at this DELICIOUS little dinner for breakfast and ate waaaaay too much food. Anyone else binge eat over holidays? And then Sunday we drove down to Spanish Fork and spent the evening at my Aunt Heather's house with all of my side of the family. Everyone loved seeing the twins again since it had been a while, and we had a blast catching up with cousins. We really are lucky to have so much family and friends close by! A few days before Easter I had to do a photoshoot with the twins and their cute cousin Tristan. I love seeing the relationship these three already have! The boys already look up to Tristan and watch him so closely to follow what he does. It's adorable and I can't wait to see what happens as they get older.

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all remember the real meaning behind this holiday. He is risen!

Nine Months!

The twins are NINE MONTHS OLD! It's been a whirlwind of a month!
They are learning so. fast. They can both sit up on their own now (Oliver is a little better at it than Porter), they can crawl (Porter's better at that), and they babble all the time to us! They love reading books, playing with toys, and bath time. Bath time is seriously the cutest to watch because they just splash like crazy and get so excited. Porter loves crawling back and forth across the tub. It's so fun to watch them learn new little things, and I can't wait to see what's next!

We sure love these little monkeys of ours!

Favorite Teethers

The boys have officially started teething! It's been pretty difficult around here lately. They've both become so irritable and fussy. They constantly are chewing on everything and ANYTHING they can get their hands on. And they aren't sleeping as well. But these teething rings from Otherware have helped SO MUCH! The boys absolutely love them! The beads are super soft on their gums and they will chew on them for hours on end. Plus look how cute they are!

Let's hope we get some teeth popping up soon!

Spring Break

Spring break was amazing! Braxton didn't have school all week so we were able to go on some fun little family outings around Logan and really enjoy this warm weather! The boys have been so fun to take out lately, and I love when Braxton's home so we can do things all together. Sometimes I go a little insane when I'm cooped up at home all day by myself with the twins and it's really good to get out of the house for a change and get a little fresh air. One of our favorite things is to just walk down main street and walk into all the little shops and look around. I swear I could be doing anything with Braxton and I would enjoy every second of it. I'm so happy with this life of mine and can't help but smile every time I think about how blessed I am.

Happy spring break!

St. Patrick's Day

Happy Saint Patty's Day everyone!
I'm embarrassing my kids by sticking crazy headbands on them and taking a bunch of cheesy pictures to celebrate this day! They're not Irish, but I think I'll kiss 'em anyway.

Hope everyone had a good holiday!
I know I'm loving celebrating all of the twins "firsts".

Hitting Milestones

This past week Oliver has started sitting up. Not just for a minute or two. But full on sitting by himself for long periods of time. He's got it down pat now, and it's so weird that we can just set him down on the ground on his bum and he won't tip over. And Mr. Porter has decided he's tired of staying in one spot. He now half crawls - half scoots all around the floor and we can not keep him contained! I love that they're developing so well, but at the same time it's just so weird to me that they're already at this stage! Time seriously flies so fast with these little ones.
