Finding Myself

So I have to be honest, sometimes being a mom is rough. Sometimes I wish I could just have a minute to TAKE A BREAK and relax for a bit and have some "me time." But I think that's normal. I mean, of COURSE life with baby twins is going to be hard. I knew that going into this. But as challenging as it may be it is also the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I never understood the love of a parent until now. My heart is overflowing with love for these tiny little humans I created, and I just can't get enough of them. I've spent so much time wondering about what I'm supposed to do with my life. When I came out to Utah State for school I had no clue what I wanted to major in or what career I wanted to go into. I was lost. But now I am so happy to say I have found my calling. I know that being a mother is what I am supposed to do. Yes, it's difficult… but I LOVE IT. I love watching these babies grow and cheering them on at every new milestone. I love it all.

I am so thankful for these sweet sweet boys and for how much joy they bring to my life ever single day. I am so blessed to call myself their mother!

Four Months

Oh my gosh I cannot believe my little ones are already four months old! That's a third of a year! STOP GROWING BOYS. Or else you are both grounded.
Haha but seriously. It's crazy. I love this age that they are at right now though and every new little thing they learn is such a proud mama moment for me. I love watching them grow and figure out new things. I am extremely lucky that we are in a position where I can be a stay at home mom and spend every day nurturing and caring for my kids.

Oliver is such a little angel! He is such a happy baby and we have even gotten him to giggle a couple times which has pretty much been the highlight of my life. He loves laying on the play mat and reaching for the toys that are hanging above him. Lots of the time I'll lay him there and I'll just watch him try and grab the toys and make his adorable little cooing noises. He is getting super chunky and his squishy thigh rolls just make me melt. We love our little Ollie Pop!

Porter is getting more and more of a personality. He is so so active and is always kicking and flailing his arms all over the place. Always moving. He grunts a lot and if you don't figure out what he wants quickly he will transition from frustrated grunts to turning beet red and letting out a cry that you would not think was possible to come from such a small baby. He is getting super big and growing quickly! I can't believe he is already 12 pounds. We love our little Porter Bug so much and are excited to see what lies ahead of us with this one.

Blessing Day

Sunday the boys were blessed and it was such a wonderful day! Porter and Oliver looked so handsome in their cute little blessing outfits. Braxton gave them both beautiful blessings and I may or may not have cried a little bit… okay a lot.

We had so many family and friends that came all the way up to be there and I was just amazed at the turn out. These boys definitely have a lot of people who love them! We had everyone come over to our house after the blessing to visit and eat some yummy breakfast food (Our church is at 9:00 in the morning). We set up chairs and tables out in the yard and it ended up working out perfect! This was the first time many of our family members have seen the babies and they were passed around and snuggled by everyone all day long!

My mom and dad were even able to come out for the weekend and that was probably the best part! It worked out perfectly because they were able to be there for the sealing and the blessing. It was so cute to see how excited they were to be with the babies. They are definitely going to be awesome grandparents!

I'm so thankful for my family.
And Porter and Oliver, you have no idea how loved you are!

Families Can Be Together Forever

Wednesday October 21, 2015 was one of the best days of my life. We were able to take our sweet little boys to the temple and be sealed to them for eternity. This Gospel brings so much joy to my life and I'm just amazed at how much I've grown these past couple years as I've tried to live a more Christ-centered life. I am overjoyed at the fact that now that I've been sealed to Braxton, Porter, and Oliver that I can be with them forever.

I'm so thankful for all of our family and friends that were able to be there for us. It really was a special day and one I will never forget. I'm so thankful for temples, and family, and a God who loves me.

A Family Picnic

Lately I've been dying to get out of the house any chance I get. It's so hard with two little babes and a husband who's gone all day to find time for fun family outings, but thankfully last night we were able to make it happen! I've really been trying to do as many outdoor things as I can while the weather's still nice. So last night we swung by Costa Vida to grab a steak salad to share and drove to the prettiest park for a fun family night picnic.

The boys were so well behaved and loved being outside! We were able to enjoy the fresh air and once we finished eating we walked around the park a little bit before heading home.

Aren't they just the sweetest boys?! I still just can't believe how happy they make me. It really was the perfect evening and I'm going to be so sad when it gets too cold to go outside for family outings anymore.

It's a good life!

A Weekend Review

This was such a great weekend! Friday was a low key day around the house catching up on sleep and soaking in those baby cuddles. We love relaxing at home and these babies fill my days with so much happiness.

Saturday one of my closest friends Sierra and her husband drove up from Provo to hangout with us and it was so fun! Sierra got to meet Porter and Oliver for the first time and I loved getting to catch up with her since it's been so long since we were last together. Sierra recently graduated cosmetology school and while she was here she worked wonders on my hair (which was in need of some serious love). I'm so lucky to have such a talented best friend and I really hope they'll come up again soon!

And here's some pictures of the twins because they're getting SO BIG and I just need to document it.

This picture makes me laugh because it looks like a slow motion picture of Oliver punching Porter in the face.

And Sunday we took the babies to church for their first time!! We only stayed for sacrament meeting but the boys were so well behaved and it was so fun to show them off to everyone. I loved dressing them up in their little church suits and they even matched their daddy (how cute is that?!)

It was a great weekend!

The Cutest Pumpkins in the Whole Patch

Last night for Family Night we decided it was time to take Porter and Oliver to their first pumpkin patch. It was such a beautiful October day and so we loaded the boys and the stroller into the car and drove to the cutest little patch out in Wellsville. The boys were super awake and happy the entire time and they looked around with the widest eyes taking in the new scenery. We haven't had many family outings yet so this was pretty exciting and we had a blast picking out the perfect pumpkins.

We're really getting into the spirit of October.

So much love for this little family of mine.
It's a good life!

The Perfect Sunday

We had the best day yesterday! I love Sundays because Braxton's home all day and we get to have some much needed family time. It was such a beautiful day outside that we just had to go for a walk. The cool fall air and the changing colors around us were the perfect therapy and the boys were absolute angels the whole time! We walked down to the park by our house and stopped and visited with friends we saw on our way. It's wonderful to get out of the house and get some fresh air and spend some time talking with Braxton away from all the distractions.

And this double stroller is an absolute DREAM! We got such an amazing deal on it and the carseats just snap right in and it's ready to go. Lots of double stollers are hard to maneuver but this ones super easy to turn and fits into small spaces; We really lucked out!

These two little munchkins make us so happy and I swear they just get cuter and cuter every day!

Happy Fall everyone!
The Foust family sure is loving this time of year!

The Best Weekend

This weekend was SO GREAT! We had so much fun with family and friends and I wish it didn't have to end! We started out the weekend Friday afternoon by driving down to Kaysville. It was the boys first car ride that was longer than five minutes and I was a little worried but they did awesome! They slept the whole time and when they got to Braxton's parents house they were ready to play!

We hungout there for a little bit and then Kim and Bruce watched the twins while we drove down to Provo for a fun night with friends! First we went to Braxton's mission reunion and said hello to all his old companions. It was great to visit with them and talk with some people that I'd heard stories about but never met.

After that Braxton dropped me off at my friend's house in Provo for one of our good friends from Michigan's bachelorette party! I loved getting the chance to see all my friends from Michigan who I haven't seen in forever, plus it was super nice to have a girls night and have a break from the babies. I stayed there pretty late just laughing and playing all those fun bachelorette party games. I'm so excited for Jess and her fiancé! It's the best to see all my friends getting married and starting families of their own.

That night we drove back to Kaysville and stayed the night there. We spent Saturday hanging out with Braxton's family and listening to the General Conference Talks. At the end of the day I came away feeling so uplifted and ready to try and be a better person. After the conference Braxton's Grandma and Great Grandpa came over to get some five generation pictures!

I think it's so cool that Porter and Oliver have a picture with their Great Great Grandpa!

And we got one with their Great Grandma Foust holding both of them.

And then of course while we were taking pictures we had to snap one with their cute grandparents.

After conference was over we headed back to Logan and not long after Tyler and Cassie came over to spend the night. We decided we wanted to start a tradition of having all of the cousins get together for General Conference so Sunday morning Callie and her boyfriend Colton and his brother joined us as well and we had a full house! We all crammed into our little living room to watch the Prophets speak and eat way too much food. Callie and Cassie loved holding the twins and it was so great to spend the time catching up and getting to know Callie's new boyfriend.

Uncle Tyler loved holding Porter and Oliver! They have the best uncles EVER!

I love this guy so much! I hope my kids have as close of a bond as me and Tyler do.

The whole weekend was so great and I'm thankful to have so much awesome family and friends around us! We really are blessed with the best!

3 Months Old

I can't believe Porter and Oliver are already three months old! I guess part of why it's so crazy is because they weren't home with us for the first two months of their life. But still. They're just getting so big! I love these little dudes so much.

Both boys are eating well and sleeping longer and longer periods of time at night. I'm so much looking forward to when the doctor says it's okay to let them sleep through the entire night and I can get a full nights sleep! They are so much fun to be around and I'm loving this age because they're starting to look around and act a little more curious about the world around them. It's so fun to see the look of awe in their huge eyes as they take in everything. They're also still pretty cuddly which I love. My favorite thing is to sit in a chair with one of them curled up in a little ball on my chest asleep.

I love that cute little baby yawn!

And how am I ever going to say no to this face!?

Porter: "Mom I'm hungry!"
Oliver: "Here, Eat my hand!"

Brothers. Looking out for each other since day one.

Porter weighs 10 lbs 11 oz now and is really chunking out! He's our feisty one (like I've said in the past) and the older he gets the more his personality shines through. This kid does not like it when you make him wait, which has proven to be quite difficult considering he's a twin. So most of the time he's the first one to get fed or changed while little Ollie waits for his turn patiently. As they get older we'll have to work on teaching him to wait his turn. Porter bug is getting more and more active every day and he even rolled over on his own the other day! We set him in his crib for tummy time and came back in the room 5 minutes later to see him laying on his back! We're still not quite sure how he did it and haven't seen him do it since, but with how much he tends to flail his arms and legs and push himself off the ground I'm not really surprised.

Mr. Oliver is such a sweetheart! He weighs 10 lbs 8 oz now and is starting to get the cutest little rolls! He is the more mild one of the two, but he has started to have more of a voice these past couple weeks. He's also doing this fun thing now where he projectile vomits and the spit up shoots out of his mouth and gets everything around him covered in vomit. Basically anything in the room is fair game, and I only blame myself for the fact that he's gotten my laptop, my phone, and my entire wardrobe soaked. Ollie loves the hanging mobile we have and will lay underneath it for hours looking at the toys and reaching up and hitting them with his hands. He makes the cutest cooing noises as he plays and Braxton and I find ourselves just sitting and listening to the sounds he makes and laughing.

Now please stop growing!
